Companion care is home support built around company and the shape of the day. It is for people who are largely independent but who are lonely, unsteady on a trip out, or tired of cooking for one. It is also a gentle way to start care before personal care is needed.
A companion carer might share a meal, go to the shops, sit in the park, sort the post, or come along to an appointment. Conversation is the work, not a gap between tasks. In a city the size of London, that regular presence is often what keeps someone connected to the neighbourhood.
If washing, dressing or medication become part of the need, we add personal care to the same plan rather than sending a different company. You can read more in our article, What is companion care in London?
Companionship can be a few hours a week. Tell us which days matter, such as a club, a faith service, or the afternoon a family member is at work, and we will try to match the rota to them.
